Boiling Springs Lake in Lassen Volcanic National Park
The Warner Valley trailhead does not only serve Devil's Kitchen, but also other destinations, including Boiling Springs Lake. A 4.8 km (3 miles) round trip takes you to the acidic lake, formed by a collection of hot springs and surrounded by mud pots along the shore. Although the hot springs are feeding the lake continuously, its muddy water is not really hot, but stays around 52 °C (125 °F).
